Children of Ragnarok: Norse Mythology Enamel Pins!

 Hello Everyone! Ever since I can remember I've been totally enamored with mythology in general, and Norse Mythology in particular. The lore is really colorful, fun, and playful as well as being something I can relate to culturally. I wrote a shameful number of essays throughout school on the myths, and Loki in particular. Mild obsession aside I've been toying with the idea to try and make a set of norse-themed enamel pins for a year or two now and finally made the final push to iron out my designs to share with you all!

What better place to start than with Loki? And his brood, for good measure.

Also - You won't be charged unless/until the project is funded! You don't have to worry about losing your money if for some reason we don't make the goal :)

 I've decided to go for a tiered stretch approach for this campaign, so the first pin to be made when we're funded will be Fenrir- after that the others will be unlocked up to Loki himself. Ideally we'll be able to unlock them all!

You will be able to select any of the funded pins for your reward fulfillment once the campaign ends. 

The first pin of the set is Fenrir, Loki's son with Angrboða and the wolf that was prophesied to kill Odin during Ragnarok. He was bound by Gleipnir and took Tyr's hand at the time of his binding. He'll be cast in black nickel with grey fur and yellow eyes. Gleipnir is in a striking red to contrast his dark fur.  

 The next pin was unlocked at $700 and is based off of Loki's child Jormungandr, who is also known as the Midgard Serpent. When Odin took Loki's three children that he had with the giantess Angrboða he threw Jormungandr into the sea. It grew so large that it was able to encircle all of Midgard and take its own tail into its mouth. It was said that when it released it's tail that Ragnarok would begin. Jormungandr will be cast in gold plated metal with a fresh green and yellow color palette.

The third goal is Sleipnir! The one child of Loki here that didn't come from Angrboða. In fact, Loki bore Sleipnir himself after sharing an encounter with Svaðilfari. Odin did take this child as well, and rode him around as his personal steed as Sleipnir is considered the fastest and best of all horses. Sleipnir will be cast in gold plated metal, with cool grey accents for his mane, and a lovely yellow eye.

The fourth goal is Hel, Loki's Daughter with Angrboða. She was taken at the time her siblings were and was set to rule over the land that shares her name. Hel took all of the dead that did not go to Valhalla, so all of the sick and old that did not die glorious deaths on the battlefield would join her for their afterlife. Hel will also be cast in gold plated metal. Her eyes are blue, while her hair is split half black and half blonde. Her face is skeletal on one side as she is most commonly described as half-decayed.

The 5th and last of the original goals is Loki! A true trickster (though it's a popular debate if he was the god of trickery or of fire) who had an important role to play in the story of the Norse pantheon. He gets watered down to a fool and a coward quite often but his most shining moments are when he's at his best. Thor's personal stylist? Obviously! Wingman? The best! Show up at your party and insult all your guests but you can't kick him out because he has a blood oath with Odin? You know it! Loki will be cast in a rose gold plated metal, with bright green for his eyes and a pinkish red for his hair.

At $1200 we unlocked an alternate coloring of Sleipnir- with Bifrost colored mane and tail. It's not canonical at all, but I couldn't get the idea out of my head and thought it was fun to make this "My Little Pony"-esque version of him. In addition to that, Sleipnir has been the most popular design among people I've asked so I thought showing him a little more love was warranted :)

At $1300 we unlocked the bonus for me to illustrate a mobile background for several popular/common resolutions that will be available to all backers at any level! It will of course focus around Loki, and likely would involve him and his kids, but perhaps one of his shenanigans. And it would likely be in my style like here.

At $1400 we unlocked an alternate of Fenrir with white fur, blue eye, and grey glitter Gleipnir. It's a much softer look than his default, and suitable of a wolf that was born of the north. The idea for a frosty Fenrir was suggested by a very lovely backer!♥

At $1500 I'd be able to get stickers printed of the pin designs, and would be able to include some as free additions to anyone who backs for 3 pins or above! The designs would be randomly selected from among the pin designs you've selected ^^

At $1700 I'd be able to include a mini-print with every Backer's order. It would be a cute family portrait style illustration with Loki appreciating the company of all of his equally strange children.

 As for my credentials, I'm actually familiar with enamel pin production AND providing high quality products as well as consistent communication with my customer base and fans! I'm an established participant in Artist Alleys and also provide sales through my online shop. I've worked with commissioners before to provide timely artwork and have even designed professionally for anime conventions within the USA. Besides that I have run fanbook projects(in pairs and also alone) which required the organization and production of many different products while also keeping track of both participants and manufacturers. I have a lot of relevant experience under my belt because of these things!

In regards to pin manufacturing, I have experience with every aspect of the process. As a project moderator I've handled the production process of hard enamel pins based on the designs of other artists several times. In addition to that I've created my own design from start to finish for one of these projects, seen below.

 You can add extra pins to any tier by going to 'Manage My Pledge'. To do this you'd add the amount of however many pins + a small fee to account for shipping increases. For domestic US orders you may add +13 per additional pin desired, and for INTL supporters, +15 per additional pin desired. Unfortunately it's a bit expensive, but that's just because pins are heavy and shipping costs keep going up. Please understand! ♥

 Once the campaign ends I'll be sending out the surveys to everyone. This is where I'll collect shipping information as well as what pins you'd like to receive for your pledge. Please fill this survey out within 10 days or your pins may be randomly selected for you! Also, I won't be able to ship your pins unless you fill out the survey since that's how I'll be gathering addresses :)
